Abstract

This project examines poverty, addiction, and trauma in hills of Appalachia, where I grew up. A hybrid work of autobiography and poems, this collection shares a first person perspective of being a child of an addict and reflects on the aftermath, i.e. what it means to be haunted by the ghosts and shadows of a past one can’t shake loose.
