Dr. Elena M. Sliepcevich’s served as a consultant to the President’s Committee on Health Education. The file is from the same archival folder as the documents in the “President’s Committee on Health Education Correspondence and Records” PDF, and the "Health Education Report" PDF.

The Committee was charged to:

1. Describe the state of the art in health education of the public in the United States

2. Define the nation's need for health education programs and their characteristics

3. Establish goals, priorities, and immediate and long-range objectives of a comprehensive, nation-wide effort to raise the level of "health consumer citizenship"

4. Propose the most appropriate scope, function, structure, organization, and financing of such an effort

5. Develop a plan for implementation of its recommendations
