This report was published in 1962 by Southern Illinois University's Division of Area Services and authored by Dr. Ray E. Wakeley. The series was published as a means to assist the economic, social, and cultural development of southern Illinois. This report explores population growth and decline in the southernmost 31 counties of Illinois.
