Abstract
After Riley Burns loses her mother the same night she is born, she engages in the difficult process of growing up without a mother role model. This collection of short stories includes Riley coming to terms with her less-than-large breasts, her friend's battle with anorexia, an attractive but troublesome love who sports a glass eye, a sex-obsessed college roommate, and a wish to slip away that leads her to attempt suicide. She takes on these challenges all while dealing with frequent asthma attacks and her overprotective father.
