Abstract
Vehicle-bridge interaction (VBI) modeling is essential for understanding the dynamic response of bridges subjected to vehicular loads. In this study, a VBI modeling framework was implemented using commercial finite element software, ANSYS. The framework captures the dynamic interaction between vehicles and bridges and can simulate different traffic scenarios, including multiple vehicles moving in the same or opposite at varying speeds. The accuracy of the model was verified by comparing its dynamic responses with results obtained from analytical solutions for simplified cases. This framework provides a basis for future work on bridge condition evaluation, dynamic response analysis, and system identification within the broader scope of structural health monitoring (SHM).
