Abstract

Using neo-classical growth model, the paper analyzes the impact of net migration on economic growth for 36 developed and 36 developing countries, from 1980 to 2022. For analysis, FOD-GMM is employed. Using directional asymmetry, findings of the analysis reveal that the net migration have non-linear impact on economic growth. Alos, it is evident that effects of net migration is not the same for all countries. For developed countries net immigration raises income per capita, and for developing countries net emigration raises income per capita.
