Abstract

This research establishes an economic correlation between political ideologies, social media, and online memes that target the youth with white nationalism over time. The data was collected from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Google Trends. Once the data was collected, it was put into Stata for 192 regressions with five variables. We discovered a correlation between how the economy performs and its relationship between people engaging with alt-right content, especially with younger generations, including both sexes. This research emphasizes the importance of looking at cultural phenomena from a psychological and intersectional economic point of view.
