Abstract
The purpose of this study was to gather information from SLPs currently practicing in Illinois public schools using a caseload model. Due to the lack of SLP voices regarding workload model, discovering attitudes and perspectives of the workload model will be beneficial. This qualitative investigation explored attitudes and knowledge of SLPs regarding caseload and workload models of practice in schools through a focus group interview. A focus group was conducted with four participants who have careers in speech language pathology in public schools. Results of the focus group discussion included largely negative attitudes toward caseload model and optimistic attitudes toward workload model with increasing knowledge of workload model.
