Abstract
This thesis will take the reader through the production process for one of Southern Illinois University Department of Theater’s productions, Pippin. The primary focus of this thesis will revolve around the technical director’s role during preproduction, conceptualizing the design, and implementation of the design. By exposing the reader to the inner workings of the production process one should gain insight to the work and steps necessary to create live performance.
