Abstract
At present, image-processing technology has made progress in many folds. Numerous image-processing techniques have been developed to process the images in efficient way to acquire useful information from the input images. Image fusion is an important way of processing the set of images to obtain desired information from the images. The images taken from different sources contain unwanted information (noise) that can generate problem in further processing. Therefore, researchers are in the exploration to find some constructive means to extract the useful information from the images and process them in efficient way. In image fusion techniques, some common features of the images are blended to get a resultant image with superior information. The researchers have proposed many techniques for image process and huge research work is surged in this field. In this thesis, some important image fusion techniques will be discussed and their performance will be evaluated on the bases of the results.
