Abstract

Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in Eb Major for Violin, Viola, and Orchestra (K.364), represents the pinnacle of Mozart’s travels through Mannheim and Paris. It combines elements from the Mannheim school, Salzburg tradition, and Parisian the symphonie concertante genre. Through a semiotic analysis of the first movement of the work, it is possible to find specific examples of influences from these three elements.
