Abstract
Resumen: En este trabajo yo analizo Guatimozín. Último emperador de México. escrito por Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda y Malinche: una novela escrita por Laura Esquivel. Aunque Guatimozín. Último emperador de México. es del siglo XIX y Malinche: una novela es del siglo XXI, ambas tienen vigencia hoy en día, especialmente con respecto a la representación de las mujeres en la historia. Las dos novelas fueron escritas por mujeres, y las mujeres en sus obras desempeñan un gran papel. Es sumamente importante considerar las obras escritas por mujeres sobre las mujeres en la historia como una parte integrante del canon de la ficción histórica.
Abstract: In this work I analyze Guatimozín. Último emperador de México. written by Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda and Malinche: una novela written by Laura Esquivel. Although Guatimozín. Último emperador de México. is from the 19th Century and Malinche: una novela is from the 21st Century, they are both valid and applicable today, especially in respect to the portrayal of women in history. The two novels are written by women, and the women in their novels play an important role. It is extremely important to consider the works written by women about women in history as an integral part of the canon of historical fiction.
