Abstract
Sit-to-stand transfers (STST) are crucial for daily activities, reflecting varied movement strategies influenced by musculoskeletal factors. This study explores the utility of assessing STST using relative height. Three participants of diverse heights were analyzed across four relative height intensities. Sagittal plane hip kinematics and center of gravity velocity were measured. Results revealed proportional increases in center of gravity velocity with height variation, suggesting a practical approach for assessing STST. This method offers potential for developing graded assessment protocols for older adults and diseased populations.
