SIUC’s NSF IGERT PhD Fellowship Program in Watershed Science and Policy was designed to recruit, mentor, and train a diverse group of outstanding PhD students to become the scientists, managers, and leaders who will tackle tomorrow’s interconnected environmental, social, economic, and technical challenges at watershed and river basin scales. The central approach of the program is to train each year’s IGERT class as a collaborative, interdisciplinary cohort, working together to write a river basin management plan and traveling abroad to learn about international watershed management issues.
