Abstract
The following research paper is an analysis of the works presented on the graduate voice recital of Jordan Southern on February 22, 2020. The paper will cover different time periods and musical styles. The focuses of this research paper will be the works of: George Frideric Handel, Robert Schumann, Vincenzo Bellini, Henry Purcell, Francis Poulenc, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Lee Hoiby. This paper will analyze the form, text, and drama of the pieces performed on the recital.
