Abstract
Two rules are examined. The pre-release rules from reservoirs are examined as being analogous to hedging rules which can be derived for water supply operations. Second, a "space rule" is developed for allocating flood storage capacity among parallel reservoirs in a way similar to "space" rules for allocating releases for parallel water supply reservoirs during their refill season.
